Weather Delays and Closures

Wondering what to expect in case of a weather closure in all or part of BVSD?

Under all but the most extreme conditions, school officials have a responsibility to keep school in session. During Colorado winters, snow and ice are to be expected. As always, BVSD respects a parent's decision to keep students home from school or delay their arrival due to weather conditions. Contact the school's attendance office and the absence will be excused.

* No notices means no closures or significant delays have been reported.

For detailed information about weather-related school closings and cancellations, check out this document.

Snow Truck

The turning color of the leaves and cooling temperatures are sure signs that Fall is here. Before we know it, snow and ice are certain to return too – and Boulder Valley School District is ready. An entire team at the district is prepared to monitor snowstorms, evaluate road conditions, shovel sidewalks, plow parking lots and ultimately make the big decision to delay or close schools, if necessary.
